Happy Friday everyone! Thank you for joining me today for Week 2 of Art, Medicine, & Spirituality. Today we will be discussing the topic of forgiveness and unconditional love.
In our world of duality, there are certainly moments of darkness and light that we all experience. But how do we choose to react in difficult moments? What energies do you choose to give your attention to the majority of the time? We all have experienced pain, betrayal, and conflict with others, but can we learn to ultimately forgive and love them anyway? It by no means excuses the other person for their behavior or actions whether it was intentional or not, but carrying the weight of anger and resentment within ourselves too long ultimately becomes our own poison.
It is absolutely acceptable and justifiable to feel upset, angry, resentful, and all the difficult emotions that arise from other's hurtful treatment towards you. But how do we eventually let go and find inner peace? It is by forgiving others, forgiving yourself, and forgiving the entire situation. It must come down to unconditional love for everyone and everything. This certainly does not condone others to continuously hurt you because that is where boundaries must be set. But it is having the strength to speak up for yourself and letting others know how you feel. There is no time frame of how long it takes to heal, it may take weeks, months, or years, but eventually through practice and asking for help, you can come to a place of forgiveness and unconditional love.
How do you eventually forgive and find peace within yourself? There are several methods that have helped me on a personal level. First, I meditate, pray, and speak to God everyday of what is bothering me. I ask him and my spirit guides for help and healing and they always answer with love and powerful reassuring presence. Secondly, I transmute my feelings into art as a way to alchemize the energy and let it out. Whether it is through dancing, painting, singing, writing poetry, or DJing, I always feel an energetic release and feel much lighter afterwards. Creating art is a powerful way to connect with the Divine. Thirdly, I take long mindful walks in nature, whether it's along the beach, lake, or among the trees and flowers. I always feel lighter and more grounded and connected to the Earth after these walks. And seeing God's beauty and perfection of everything in nature gives me peace knowing that everything has a divine plan. Even the most difficult moments have a reason and lesson. Fourthly, I picture the person in my mind's eye and send them nothing but love and light. I then ask for Archangel Michael's help for cutting energetic cords by releasing the other person in love and light, and then taking back my own energy and setting loving energetic boundaries. And lastly, I come to a point where I do feel a sense of forgiveness for the other person and a deep sense of love and gratitude is revealed. I no longer harbor difficult emotions against them. I either accept and learn to let them go or if they are truly meant to stay in my life, I reach out to them to have a heart-to-heart talk to re-build our bond into something that is better.
If you are going through a trying moment and are feeling angry, resentful, or hurt, just know that it is absolutely ok to feel that way. You do not have to be positive all the time. It is ok to feel your feelings. Do not try to suppress how you feel through distractions because the only way out is to feel them completely, so that you can heal. Once you come to a place within yourself where you are able to forgive and let go, you will find in your heart a deep unconditional love for yourself and others. Because true strength lies in forgiving others and having unconditional love for them. But just as a reminder, even if you do forgive them and are able to have unconditonal love for them, it does not always mean that they are meant to be in your life - you must set boundaries for who aligns with you and how you should be treated. But most importantly, the focus and lesson here for you is the state of finally feeling forgiveness and unconditional love within your heart. This state of unconditional love is a gift of peace from God that is always available to you. Because after all, we are human and make mistakes all the time, but God continues to loves us unconditionally no matter what. And because God loves us unconditionally, you also have the divine capacity to love others unconditionally too.
What are some methods that you practice to help you find peace and a place of forgiveness and unconditional love? You are all welcome to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences! Sending so much love to all of you! :)
