Self-Love & Feelings
Share
Today, we will be discussing self-love. Currently, our society places great emphasis of external validation as the basis of our reality. Because of this, we have become disconnected from our true selves. Instead, we place greater importance on what others think of us, we compete to prove how worthy we are, we achieve to give ourselves an egoic identity of importance, and we accumulate material things to show how successful we are. But deep down we feel that there is something missing. We have been fed a false paradigm that tells us that we are not good enough or worthy from the day that we are born. We have been conditioned to work and burn ourselves out to prove to the world that we are worthy of love and admiration. This is far from the real truth. The truth is, we are wonderfully beautiful and worthy of love just as we are. There is absolutely nothing to prove!
How then do we return and connect with ourselves again? How do we feel this self-love that has been covered by layers of false perceptions and illusions? We do this by focusing on what feels loving and good in our hearts. We focus on the feeling of the process itself of creating and doing something, and not the achieved result. For instance, in creating art, it is the FEELING of the connection as the paintbrush glides along the canvas, it is the FEELING of the energy that moves through us as we dance moment by moment. The focus must shift to the FEELING of the process of life and not only on the end result of our achievements/efforts/results that we then post on Facebook or Instagram for external validation and approval. How many times have we missed the treasure of truly living in the moment and watched/recorded instead through the lenses of our phones? The real treasure comes from experiencing the full richness of the moment by being present.
What then energizes you? What activity makes your heart sing? Can we instead shift our focus on how we FEEL while living our lives and not how our lives look like to others? By slowing down with mindfulness and having a heart-centered approach to our lives, we can transcend our reality from shifting our focus from the shallow external validation to our rich internal brilliance. To be clear, there is nothing wrong with sharing our artwork, lives, achievements, and ideas with others in order to build community and connection, but when this external validation becomes the only way to fill the emptiness in our hearts, then we must make a powerful shift. By living self-referential from our own hearts, we will feel deep divine self-love, knowing that we are already blessed and forever worthy. Our own hearts are the real true treasure! Sending love and light to you all!!
